The QA department is currently looking for a vibrant, honest, dynamic, reliable and motivated go-getter to join their team. The applicant should be detail orientated, systematic and have a passion for organization.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Investigating complaints/queries & questionnaires including working on customer based IT systems. Creating COC’s & COA’s for clients
QC testing on raw materials & packaging materials. Testing and checking of samples for purchased from overseas suppliers
Setting up tastings of in-process products & overseeing that daily tasting sessions with factory are performed; Co-ordinate monthly tastings on teas in stock
Investigating non-conformances, corrective actions & communicating them to suppliers and internally
Act as a Pest control officer
Checking of freezer loggers & reporting failures.
Managing the calibration and monitoring of the monitoring devices (scales etc) and where needed arranging repairs
Ensuring testing requirements for clients are met and samples are drawn and sent away for testing within the required time frames. Performing swabbing verifications and sending these for testing using correct aseptic techniques. Reporting results of tests within the organization
Developing specifications and performing tasks related to the upkeep of the food safety and quality management system
Supplier approval and management of supplier approvals on packaging items
Conducting internal audits
HACCP team member
Maintenance of procedures that form part of CHS certifications; Reviewing procedures annually minimum; Trending of objectives and trending of food safety information at required time frames.
Ensure & maintain hygiene arrangements for the factory (coats, consumables e.g. cleaning chemicals); Assist with developing cleaning schedules / procedures.
Supporting production and QC’s, with day-to-day technical problem solving
Requirements:
B. Tech Food Technology/ B. Sc Food Science or other relevant science related degree (required microbiology and chemistry understanding). Copies of qualifications must be submitted with a CV
0 - 2 years industry experience
Proficient in working in Microsoft programs (outlook, excel, word)
Own reliable transport
