Sweet & Sticky Asian-Style Roast Chicken

Sweet & Sticky Asian-Style Roast Chicken

-YOU WILL NEED-

Whole chicken (preferably free range, without giblets)

2 tspn crushed garlic

2 Tbsp soy sauce

2 tspn lemon juice (ideally freshly squeezed)

1 tspn ground ginger

½ cup olive oil

1 Tbsp honey

Cape Herb & Spice Sweet & Sticky Chicken Shaker Seasoning

Vine tomatoes

2 lemons, each halved

onion, peeled and halved

-METHOD-

  • Pre-heat the oven to 200°C.
  • Prepare the basting sauce by adding together the garlic, soy sauce, lemon juice, ginger, olive oil and honey. Finish off with a healthy shake of Cape Herb & Spice Sweet & Sticky Chicken Shaker Seasoning and stir well to blend.
  • Place your chicken in a large roasting pan and stuff with lemon and onions before pouring over the basting sauce and rubbing it in to coat well.
  • Finish off by adding a handful of vine tomatoes and lemon halves to the dish - place in the oven and roast for at least an hour and 15 minutes, or until cooked through.
