SMASHED AVO BOARD

Get the party started with this easy-to-impress smashed avo board! Go on, dig in! 

- WHAT YOU WILL NEED -

  • FOR THE PICKLED JALAPENOS:
  • FOR THE CREAMY AVO:
  • 125ml white wine vinegar
  • 2 large ripe avocados
  • 125ml water
  • 1 Tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Cape Herb and Spice SMASHED AVO SEASONING
  • 1 tsp Cape Herb and SpiceTALL ATLANTIC SEA SALT GRINDER
  • FOR THE ASSEMBLY:
  • 4 large jalapeños, thinly sliced
  • 4 Tbsp sour cream
  • FOR THE TOMATO & ONION SALSA:
  • Handful fresh coriander leaves
  • 2 medium sized tomatoes, seeds removed and diced
  • Cape Herb and Spice SMASHED AVO SEASONING
  • ¼ white onion, diced
  • TO SERVE: 250g corn tortilla chips

- METHOD -

For the pickled jalapeños:

Combine all the ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Switch off the heat and transfer to a glass jar and refrigerate until cooled. 

(can be made several days in advance) 

For the salsa:

Combine tomato and onion in a bowl.

For the creamy avo: 

In the bowl of a food processor, combine the avocado, lime juice, and Cape Herb and Spice Smashed Avo Seasoning. Blitz until smooth. 

Taste to adjust seasoning. 

Assembly:

Dollop the creamy avocado mixture onto a serving board and spread it out with the back of a spoon. Add little spoonfuls of sour cream all over the board and then sprinkle over the tomato and onion salsa. Season everything lightly with a sprinkle of Cape Herb and Spice Smashed Avo Seasoning. Scatter with fresh coriander leaves. 

Serve alongside a bowl of tortilla chips and dig in!
